Paul Thompson

Paul is an organized, results oriented leader, and behind him is the loving support of wife and family. His values are rooted in faith and family. Paul is athletic and enjoys physical activity from cross-training to golf. Somewhat of a homebody, grilling, boating and the beach are his places to relax, often while listening to rock-n-roll. He appreciates the splendor of a sunrise and the beauty of sunsets over the Gulf Coast waters.

A career banker, Paul has over 40 years in bank and credit union administration. One of his greatest strengths is quantifying and interpreting business credit risk.

Paul formed Credit Risk Surety, LLC to offer his expertise and SuretyScore^sm, a risk rating model for business and church loans. He has assembled a trusted team of talented people sharing the same passion for timely identifying and effectively managing credit risk. They are experienced and share the same ideals. This is an all-star team! Moreover, they love and respect one another.

Tonya Parnell

Tonya, “a daddy’s girl”, emulates her late Father in living her faith and caring for her family. Her husband, two boys (now men) and grandchildren are her heart. She and her husband built their own house and live in a country setting. Tonya enjoys crafting, especially scrapbooking. Her life revolves around a variety of activities with family.

Tonya is a stickler for detail and has a cooperative spirit. She is the guru for all things Business Services. She has been working in a credit union for over 15 years; all fifteen with Paul.

Tonya is the Administrative Assistant at Credit Risk Surety, LLC and keeps things organized in accounting and billing.

Karen Whitford

Born and raised in a small town, Karen and her high school sweetheart chose to live and raise their family in the only place she knows – the same small town. Karen is a woman of many titles: wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, co-worker, and caregiver. She loves running behind grandchildren at soccer games, parks, dance recitals and around the pool. She and her husband, along with other family members, enjoy cruising (cruise ship trips). When put on the spot, Karen’s typical response is “I’m blessed.”

Karen’s career spans over 40 years; titles include Teller, Loan Secretary, Loan Officer, Vice President, Risk Officer, BSA Officer. She is CUCE certified, i.e., Credit Union Compliance Expert. Karen is a skilled underwriter and lender. She and Paul have worked together for over 25 years.

Karen provides regulatory guidance and does customer contact, sales and service for Credit Risk Surety, LLC.

Charlene Carpenter

People describe Charlene as “sweet.” She balks at the description but will agree she is a nice person. Charlene gets immense joy from doing for others. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are her salvation. She lives for her husband, daughter, family, friends, and career.

The love of wide-open spaces, music (Charlene is an accomplished pianist), animals, saltwater and fall breezes are deep within her being. She appreciates diverse cultures, languages and when it comes to the English language, will talk about anything. Charlene is the fun-loving, creative type in a no-nonsense way.

A career in financial institutions spanning more than 40 years, Charlene has been a Loan Operations Supervisor, Auditor, Retail Banking Officer, Branch Manager and Quality Control Specialist. She has worked with Paul for over 25 years.

Rachel Hartnell

Rachel grew up about 100 miles from the northern most point of the United States, where it is COLD most of the year. After graduating high school, she moved south to warmer temperatures and the University of South Alabama. Rachel fell in love with the Gulf Coast!

Rachel enjoys sunshine, exercise, and most importantly, the adventures of motherhood. Her spontaneous and free-spirited daughter keeps her on her toes. Rachel is a studious, methodical, and quiet personality, yet a loyal friend and co-worker

Rachel honed her talents in credit management and loan review during her more than 20 years in banking. She possesses strong analytical abilities and the knack for properly interpreting credit analysis. Rachel is CUCE certified (Credit Union Compliance Expert). Rachel and Paul have worked together for more than 5 years.

Jason Jordan

Jason is a dedicated husband and fun-loving father to 3 grown boys.He is serious about “date night”, and will let you know “that comes first”! Jason appears serious and formal, but when you get to know him, you will see he is reliable, fiercely loyal to close friends and treasures relationships.

Jason really likes tinkering with his hands and learning new things. His interests range from ballroom dancing to growing vegetables. As a life-long Christian, much of his time is spent serving others. Jason has over 40 years in Information Technology covering a wide array of disciplines and experiences. He and Paul have worked together for more than 15 years.
